What a smart blog. We should always be mindful of the bottom line, but the truth is that we become spoiled. I live in the Silicon Valley, and until recently, there would be articles and blogs about employee benefits. These might include free meals (yes, meals, plural), hair cutting services, massages, etc. Once people become accustomed to these benefits, it's hard to cut them back. People complain, not really understanding that these costs add up and in these times, it's the benefits or someone's/many people's jobs: take your pick.

Having good benefits and rewards are useful and recruiting and retaining good employees, but going overboard can cost you a company.

Hi,
my name is Anh and for my BA-Thesis I’m currently conducting a study about American Bloggers.

I would like to invite you to participate in the survey.

It will only take about 15 minutes and it’s completely anonymous.
Just visit the following URL:
http://onlineforschung.org/usblogger

Even if you don’t want to participate (or are not American), you can help me by posting the link in your blog and/or inviting others to take part.

I greatly appreciate every survey completed ;)

Thank you!

One afternoon, I was in the backyard hanging the laundry when an old, tired-looking dog wandered into the yard. I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home. But when I walked into the house, he followed me, sauntered down the hall and fell asleep in a corner. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back. He resumed his position in the hallway and slept for an hour.
This continued for several weeks. Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: "Every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap. "
The next day he arrived with a different note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with ten children - he's trying to catch up on his sleep."

I cried from laughter
Sorry, if not left a message on Rules.
